Send Kimbo Slice to Golden Boy?

So now that Seth Petruzelli has put an end to the Kimbo Slice mystique, where does the internet sensation go from here? By no means could one say that his MMA career is over after his first and only loss, but certainly he can not under any circumstances be the main event headliner of a card. So where does he go from here? They can try putting him against Ken Shamrock or anybody else for that matter, but no matter who they put him against the fight will not bring the mystique that once existed with Kimbo Slice. The once undefeated internet phenominon who was on the cover of ESPN magazine and featured in video game commercials simply wouldn't draw anywhere close to what he was prior to losing to a practically no-name in Seth Petruzelli. Now don't get me wrong, he'd still draw, but no where near what he did for his first three fights, and if he loses again .... well, then it would truly mark the end.

While continuing the 34 year olds growth in MMA is always a possibility, the reality of the situation is that he will never be a complete Mixed Martial Artist who is ready for this kind of game in enough time. So how about repackaging Kimbo Slice altogether as a professional boxer, since throwing punches is allegedly the strong point of his MMA game. Would he be better off in a sport that doesn't go to the ground? Probably! Even if one were to argue that it was Seth's fist that sent Kimbo to the ground, Kimbo would have easily gotten back up in 10 seconds and continued the fight - and since the heavyweight is already well known throughout the MMA world, Golden Boy could be the very savior he needs. Put him in a boxing match on a Golden Boy or Affliction card and see how it goes (think business), what is there to lose?
