Oscar De La Hoya chose to attend Affliction DOR instead of the Mosley Margarito boxing event and was critisized live on HBO immediatly prior to the main event by boxing icon Larry Merchant. Merchant claimed that the Golden Boy was paid 5 million by the fledging MMA promotion to attend their event however according to relevent sources this is a complete fabrication.
